Yesterday was embarkment day, and embark we did. A friend told me that boarding day would be boring, because the crew were trying to get 2000 guests and their luggage on board, and that takes time. He was not wrong…
Part of the boarding process is a souvenier photo, and it could have been a lovely moment, except I believed the guy at Central Station who told me that the cruise ship dock was a “10 minutes walk”. Not. Even. Close. 22 minutes later, I arrived at the terminal, red faced and dewy from dragging my luggage uphill. Picture time!! But I saved myself the cab fees, and now I don’t feel particularly compelled to buy the photo package either, so I guess it all worked out.
Today, we’re on the open ocean and tomorrow, England! Stay tuned for more amazing updates!
One response to “All Aboard!”
Rose, I so enjoy your comments and pictures, it is better than being there and walking uphill with luggage trailing behind.
Looking forward to more posts.
Bless you, Carole
