…But first, a day at sea.
We departed from Barcelona at 10:30 PM and sailed off through night and day and in and out of weeks and almost over a year, but the only wild thing I saw was this guy…
(My apologies to Maurice Sendak.)
I spent our “sea day” mostly sitting by a window with knitting in my hands, watching the show.
But you can’t sail on an endless sea forever, and eventually the captain brought us into Civitavecchia, the city that serves as the port of Rome.
From there, it was a 90 minute bus trip, and here I am, at the very place that all roads lead to. Our bus tour included a stop at the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls.
Welcome to Rome.

Darn , I have to write twice as I touched something with my little finger.
I hate for the great notes and pictures to end. So interesting and good. Since this is how I travel these days watching Rick Steves or your posts , I will miss them. I will pray for travelling mercies as you go backwards across the earth toward the rising Sun. Arriving home with more jet lag than you had in the beginning. Bless you, Carole
Oh, to be in Rome. Amazing photos. Thank you!
